CPSC and Lasko Products, Inc. Announce Recall of
Ceramic Space Heaters, Lasko Model 5540 and Air King Model 8540
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), Lasko Products,
Inc. of West Chester, PA is recalling approximately 104,500 Model 5540 and approximately 3,000

there was minor damage to floors or carpeting. There have been no reports of injuries involving
these heater models.

and gray with black vents. The name “Lasko” is printed at the top of the Model 5540. The name
“Air King” is printed at the top of the Model 8540. Affected Model 5540 units were sold primarily
through Sam’s Club and other retailers from 2002 through 2004. Affected Air King Model 8540 units
were sold primarily through W.W. Grainger, Inc. during the same time period.
